I bought this as a birthday gift for my daughter who just turned 11. We are based in Kolkata and got the delivery in 3 days. The packaging was excellent — felt like a premium product. My daughter opened the Ramayan first and was hooked from the Bharat Milap chapter. The QR code feature is something I have never seen in any Indian children's book — you scan and get an animated video of the story. She has since finished the Mahabharat as well and says the Kurukshetra story is her favorite. The Gita section on Krishna's Teaching on Fear sparked a beautiful conversation between us. I read this to my 5-year-old. He doesn't get the entire story, but he understands the feelings—like when Arjuna was sad or when Sita was brave. The simple language helps convey big emotions. The book itself is a nice size, easy for small hands to hold.
Bahut acchi book hai. Bacchon ko dharm ki sahi samajh aati hai. Overly religious nahi hai, bas sahi aur galat ka fark batati hai. Mera beta ab kehta hai "Main dharma ke raaste par chalunga". Paper quality bhi achhi hai.
My son is obsessed with Hanuman after reading the Ramayana book from this set. He loved the chapter on Hanuman's jump to Lanka. The book has made these characters feel real and admirable to him. Good quality paper.
The Bhagavad Gita book is surprisingly easy for kids. I thought it would be too deep, but it breaks down big ideas like the soul or doing your duty into small points. It also has some shlokas with meanings. My daughter is in 4th standard and she understood it.
What I like most is that at the end of each chapter, there's a "Kids Lesson" box that clearly states what we learned. It's great for discussion. Like after the chapter on Kaikeyi, we talked about why jealousy is harmful. Very practical.
For me, the most important thing is character building. These books help with that. They talk about honesty, courage, and duty in a way kids can grasp. A very worthy addition to our home library. The physical books feel premium.
