The story

Eighteen chapters, from Rama's birth to his return to Ayodhya

The whole journey, in order, without the parts that frighten a child. Every chapter is a short read at bedtime β€” one sitting, one idea, one lesson to talk about afterwards.

A Quiz Time page after every single chapter

The practice

A Quiz Time page after every single chapter

Reading it once is not the same as remembering it. Each chapter closes with written exercises that make a child go back and think β€” and an answer key at the back so parents never have to guess.

  • Tick the correct answer, true or false, one-word answers
  • Fill in the blanks and Match the Following
  • "Who Am I?" β€” recall a character from their own words
  • Draw & Label, for the children who are still learning to write
  • Think & Write β€” three lines in their own words
Values that stay with them long after the story ends

The reason

Values that stay with them long after the story ends

The Ramayan is not a fairy tale with a magic ending. It is a story about choosing what is right over what is easy. Written plainly, so a nine-year-old can see the pattern for themselves.

  • Truth and good character, even when it is hard
  • Courage, patience and inner strength β€” the way Sita faced hardship
  • Loyalty and duty β€” the way Lakshmana stood by his brother
  • Devotion and humility β€” the way Hanuman served without expecting anything back
  • That doing what is right matters more than doing what is easy

Questions parents ask

What age is this Ramayan story book for?

Ages 4 to 12. Children of 4 to 7 enjoy it read aloud, with the illustrations and the QR videos carrying the story. Readers of 8 and above manage it on their own and can complete the Quiz Time pages without help.

Is the story told in a way that will frighten my child?

No. Rama's battle with Ravana is told through courage and choices, not violence. Difficult moments β€” Sita's exile, the fear of losing loved ones β€” are handled with care and kept emotionally safe, while staying true to the original narrative.

Which language is the book in?

The book text is in simple English, written in short sentences for young readers. The QR code videos are available inboth Hindi and English, so a child can follow the story in whichever language is comfortable at home.

Do I need the QR videos to use the book?

Not at all. The book is complete on its own. The videos are a free companion β€” no app to install, no account to create. Any phone camera will open them.

What is inside β€” how many chapters and pages?

18 chapters across 100+ full-colour pages, covering Rama's complete journey from his birth to his return to Ayodhya. Each chapter has its own QR video, a Kids Lesson recap and a Quiz Time page, with a full answer key at the back.

How fast is delivery, and can I pay on delivery?

Free shipping anywhere in India, dispatched the next working day. Cash on delivery is available at checkout. If something is wrong with your copy, exchange or return it within 7–15 days in unused condition.

Do you have the Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita too?

Yes. The Sanatan Story Packβ„’ bundles all three β€” Ramayan, Mahabharata and Bhagavad Gita for Children β€” at β‚Ή1,399 instead of β‚Ή2,999, which works out to β‚Ή466 a book.

Print clarity is good

I order a lot of books online, and sometimes the print is faded. This one is crisp and clear. The font size is also comfortable for young readers. Happy with the purchase.

It's okay, could have more illustrations

The book is good content-wise, but I wish there were more colorful pictures on every page. My child is very visual, so more illustrations would have kept his attention better.

Good quality paper

The physical book quality is nice. Pages are not too thin and the binding seems strong, which is important because my younger one is a bit rough with books. It can handle being flipped through many times.

Covers the main story well

It covers all the important parts from Rama's birth to his return to Ayodhya. It doesn't leave out key events like Shurpanakha or the golden deer. Good summary for youngsters.

Ekdum mast book hai

Bacche ko bedtime pe sunata hoon. Khud bhi stories yaad aa jaati hain. Hanuman wala part toh mera beta khud padh leta hai. Printing bhi badhiya hai.

Simple language, not tough words

The language is perfect for early readers. There are no difficult Sanskrit words thrown in without explanation. It's very accessible. The quiz at the end is a fun way to recap.

I recommend it

I've already recommended this book to a few friends who have kids the same age. It's a gentle, kind, and meaningful way to introduce our culture to the next generation.

Helped my child open up

After reading the chapter where Rama feels sad but strong, my son talked to me about a time he felt sad at school. The book created a safe space for that conversation. I'm very grateful.

Love the 'Kids Lesson' part

The best part is the summary at the end of every chapter. It clearly states what we can learn from it. My son now tries to 'find the lesson' in other things we do. Very nicely put together.

Dharm ko aasan bhasha mein samjhaya hai

Bahut acchi book hai. Bacchon ko dharm ki baatein aasan shabdon mein samjhana mushkil hota hai, par ye book bohot simple tareeke se samjhati hai. Hanuman bhakti wala part toh mere bete ko yaad ho gaya.

Easy for grandparents to read

My mother-in-law reads it to my son. She says the language is simple for her too, as she is more comfortable with Hinglish. It's a nice bonding activity for them.

Very happy with this purchase

This is exactly the kind of book I was searching for. Simple, positive, and rooted in our culture. It's now part of our daily reading routine. Highly recommend it for young families.

Simple but effective

I had high expectations and it met them. It's a simple book but very effective in communicating the core values of the Ramayana. My 6-year-old now understands why we celebrate Diwali.

The cover is nice

The cover art is beautiful and inviting. My daughter picked it from a pile of books just because of the cover. And then she actually read it! Good first impression.

Received in good condition

The book was packed well and delivered without any damage. The cover is glossy and nice. Overall, a satisfying purchase experience from start to finish.

Helps teach values without forcing

The book doesn't feel like a textbook. It flows like a story. My kids (twins, age 6) now talk about being kind like Rama or brave like Hanuman. It's nice to see them learning these things naturally.

Good for playdates too

During playdates, I read a chapter to the kids. They all sit quietly and listen. Afterwards, they act out the scenes. It's a great way to keep a group of children engaged and having fun.

A bit too simple for older kids

My 9-year-old finished it in one sitting. It was a bit too simple for her reading level. However, she enjoyed the quiz and said the story was nice. Better suited for 4-7 year olds.

Good for gift purpose

I bought a couple of extra copies to give as return gifts for my son's birthday party. It's a meaningful gift and the parents appreciated it. Better than plastic toys.

Good foundation

It lays a good foundation. My kids now know the main characters and the basic plot. When they hear more detailed stories later, they'll have a base to build on. Useful book.

Useful for Sunday morning reading

We have a new routine now. Sunday mornings, we all sit together and read one chapter. It's a nice way to connect as a family and the kids are actually learning something meaningful. Good buy.

A bit too simplistic

The story is very, very simple. I felt some of the emotional depth was lost. But again, for the target age group of 3-5, it might be appropriate. My 7-year-old found it too easy.

K

Wish I had this growing up

Such a gentle introduction to our epics. It focuses on the feelings and the right choices, not just the story. The part about Kaikeyi explains her emotions without making her a simple villain. Very balanced.

P

Could be better

I found the book just okay. The stories are very short and skip a lot of detail. I think I'll wait a few years and get a more comprehensive version for my child.

R

Good for moral science lessons at home

I don't like the moral science books from school. They feel forced. This book teaches the same things - honesty, helping, courage - but through stories. It's much more effective.

S
Shruti
Good one time read

We read it over a few weeks. It was nice, but I don't see us re-reading it many times. The quizzes at the back were fun for a while. An okay book.

G
Gauri Kulkarni
Logical flow of chapters

The book is organized very well. The index makes it easy to find a specific story. We often just jump to the chapter on Hanuman because that's my son's favorite.

M
Meera Nair
Basic story, good for small kids

If you want the full Valmiki Ramayan, this is not it. But for introducing little ones (3-6 years) to the main characters and the concept of dharma, it’s great. The focus on values is what I liked most.

A
Alok Tripathi
Engaging for the age group

My 5-year-old doesn't have a long attention span, but he sits through the whole chapter for this book. The sentences are short and the message is clear. It's doing its job well.

Nice life lessons

Every parent wants their child to learn good values. This book delivers that. It's not just a storybook; it's a guide for little hearts on how to be a good human being.
